Friday night, a friends’ band called Call Me Constant (check them out here) played at a local bar/coffee shop. Being into that whole scene I went to go see them with some of my girl friends, and we had a blast! Of course I enjoyed my friends’ band, but I also really liked the band that was there from New York, Red Light Departure (check them out here). The drummer was just so incredible! It was amazing watching him, he was really into it, just really passionate about drumming. I don’t actually think I can describe in words what it was like to see them. The other band that played was pretty good as well, though I arrived half-way through their set (Jim from Portland). Anyway, fun and exciting Friday night here in Cleveland! Check out the bands, they’re really awesome kids!
While everyone was at a cookout with their families and then going to see fireworks with either family or friends, or even both, I spent my 4th of July doing what I love best, around the people I love lots! I went drifting! with so many amazing people! Here are the highlights of my best 4th ever!
so Polly entered the “but why?” phase. Oh God please help me get through these next few days without losing it.
Today I got a phone call about one of the 50 plus job applications I’ve filled out. Starting Wednesday, I’m an employee of Fun ‘n’ Stuff. Sounds sweet doesn’t it?
Day two of physical therapy observations: I got to work with a patient in the pool! The PT couldn’t be with two hands on patients at once, so when I went over to her to see what the aquatics therapy was like, she handed me the chart and timer and I was the one telling the patient what to do and demonstrating how to do the stuff! The PT came over and checked up on the patient and me every five minutes, but it was still amazing to get to go through that experience. Three more days at this clinic. Then taking a little break and on to the next.
Today I went to the NEO Strength Clinic. I really enjoyed it. There were different speakers there to talk about topics like nutrition and sport training, active dynamic warm-ups, training the non-ground based athlete (swimmers), effort based programs and the functional movement system. There were speakers from the Cleveland Clinic, The Ohio State University, and Manchester College to name a few. It was a great learning experience with both lecture components and hands on “clinics.”
